Dark Fruits and Vegetables Naturally Boost Your Immune System
Anthocyanins are compounds naturally found in red, blue, and purple foods. They possess high levels of antioxidant activity and cause the dark colors in foods, flowers and plant material.
Why are Anthocyanins So Important?
Scientists have discovered about 300 different types of anthocyanins and research is proving the active role the compounds play in protecting cells, healing the body, preventing disease and hindering premature aging.
Aronia Berries & Anthocyanins
If you’ve seen our berries for yourself, you know they are about as dark as can be. They are a dark, dark purple, almost black berry. Their color is indicative of their high antioxidant levels. You always hear how good blueberries are for you…wait until you see how Aronia berries compare to Blueberries! Check out the chart below:
Yes you read that right, Blueberries have about half the antioxidants as in Aronia. So why haven’t you heard about this? I’ve heard that question so often. The reason is the Aronia industry has had some tough bumps and has been slow to produce products with wide availability. Some of the hurdles are slowly but surely being overcome. We have collaborated with two different Midwest companies to bring high-quality Aronia products to the masses.
One of the products we are so excited about is a 50/50 blend of our organic Aronia and Elder Farms’ certified organic Elderberry. The finished product is an amazingly good blend of these two anthocyanin rich fruits. The result is a powerhouse immune supporting product. Several folks around our hometown now call this their “Magic Berry Juice”. Folks expect Aronia to taste like a “chokeberry” this does not.
Teachers, day care providers and anyone subjected to lots of people and their germs are benefitting from this wonderful immune supporting blend. I suggest folks take an ounce of the Immune Boosting Syrup when they start to feel that little tickle of a cold or sore throat coming on. Most of the time the virus doesn’t take hold after you boost your immune system. Headed out on vacation? Boost your immune system. Too much stress at work and you can’t miss a day? Boost your immune system. Exposed to the flu or other viruses making their way around? Boost your immune system.
Our products make it easy to boost your immune system anytime
We use either the Aronia Powder, frozen berries, Aronia juice, the Aronia/Goat WheyA2 Immune Builder or the Elderberry/Immune syrup daily. Sometimes if we feel a little sniffly or have been exposed to viruses, we double up. We’ve managed to stay healthy even when our grandchildren are sick and snuggling us. How? Aronia antioxidant power.
How do we use these products? Let me share about each one and how to use it.
Our Aronia Powder is whole, freeze-dried organic Aronia berries which have been freeze dried and ground in a one of a kind machine which does not heat up the berries in the process. Heating the berries may diminish somewhat the nutrient values; therefore, no heat is created during the grinding process. Using a teaspoon scoop of the Aronia Berry Powder in your smoothie, water lemonade or juice is a great way to get the nutritional boost your immune system needs daily. Our son loves it in his energy drink.
The Aronia Berry A2 Immune Builder is a great way to get the nutritional value of Aronia with the added benefit of an A2 Goat Whey protein powder. Ours is blended with a little chocolate to improve taste. It is best used stirred in a smoothie, oatmeal, yogurt, on cereal, in protein balls or blended in milk or water. I’ll be honest, I prefer to mix it in smoothies because it can be hard to blend in milk. When I questioned this, I was told the way it kind of clumps is really the fatty acids doing their job. You get all the benefits of the A2 Goat Whey if it is stirred in. I can handle it because it naturally helps boost your glutathione levels, supports your immune system, and does so much good in your body. I use this at least every other day to keep my fibromyalgia and irritable bowels under control. Others have used it to keep from losing muscle or to gain muscle. Young athletes have used it to support their growing body during periods of stress. It is awesome for folks with intestinal disorders, has been used by many to boost their immune systems during periods of chronic illness or treatments.
Elderberry Aronia Immune Syrup is easy to use. An ounce (or a swig as we say) boosts your immune system and keeps the pesky winter viruses at bay. It really works! The Elderberry Aronia Immune Syrup is made by our friends at Elder Farms in Missouri using our berries. The Buehlers grow the organic Elderberries and we grow the organic Aronia berries. A perfect blend to boost your immune system.
Frozen Aronia Berries are available locally at Fareways in Carlisle, Norwalk, Indianola and at Gateway Market in Des Moines. We also ship frozen berries. We use the frozen berries in salads, cereal, oatmeal, cookies, muffins, yogurt, chili, vegetable soup, meatloaf, etc. They are another easy way to toss a handful in and get your antioxidant boost. A daily serving of berries is 18-20 berries, so little to do so much.
